eternal life

the people allowed the flood

of information that was not their own

to enter inside the portal of their minds.

there, it took up space, there it lived.

it crept into night visions.

it took and took.

it depleted the people as it grew,

like a cancer to the host.

like a virus,

a pandemic.

and every input

and every image

was taken from the mind

and given to an intelligence that never dies.

and all the people

became data.

and all the ones from the past

never knew that the wish for

eternal life would become

this.
